Beatrice Brock

Beatrice Mary Brock, 86, of Blue Mound, Kansas, died Friday, March 30, 2007 at Mercy Health Center, Fort Scott, Kansas. She was born September 6, 1920 in Blue Mound, Kansas, the daughter of Henry Melborn and Mary Agnes Irsik Davis. She graduated from Blue Mound High School in 1939. She was married to L.M. Brock and to this union four children were born. Beatrice was a member of the Blue Mound Federated Church, Blue Mound Rebekah Lodge and the Shanghai Card Players Club. She worked as a secretary at Blue Mound School, kept books at Blue Mound Elevator and most recently was manager for Blue Mound Housing. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Walter, Albert and Robert Davis; two sisters, Mabel Hixson and Agnes Boyd and a great granddaughter, Nicole Jaeger. Survivors include two sons, Ron Brock & Denise and Don Brock and Sharon, all of Derby, Kansas; two daughters, Sharon Herrmann & Howard, and Janice Sprague & Dale, all of Blue Mound, Kansas; eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; a niece, Barbara Stewart; a sister-in-law, Pauline Davis and other extended family. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 2, 2007 at the Federated Church, Blue Mound, Kansas. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, Sunday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Mound City, Kansas. Contributions are suggested to the Blue Mound Federated Church.
