Anna Louise (McRae) Davis, age 69, went to go be with the Lord on Friday, 5/14/2010 at St. Joseph via Christi Hospital, Wichita, KS. She was born 3/31/1941 outside of Mound City, KS in the Wesley Chapel neighborhood to the late Walter Earl (W.E.) McRae and Elma May (Paddock) McRae. She graduated from Mound City High School, Mound City Kansas and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Ft. Scott, KS, where she received her R.N. The training also included hospitals at Hutchinson, KS, Topeka, KS, Kansas City, KS as well as Ft. Scott, KS. She worked as an RN at Kansas City, KS and Fredericksburg, Virginia; a school nurse at Mound City, KS School Districts and also at Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS. She also worked as a private duty nurse in Fredericksburg, Virginia and Wichita, KS. She enjoyed singing at church, gardening, animals, the outdoors and loved helping people as well as playing the piano. She married Ivor K. Davis on November 21, 1967. They later divorced and he passed away on November 26, 2005. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ivor K. Davis II and Janet Davis; her two granddaughters, Samantha and Megan of Hopewell, VA; sister Alice (Steve) McClain of Wichita, KS; sister Althea (Kenny) Wallace of Inman, KS; sister, Avis (Richard) Greenstreet of Wichita, KS. Two nieces - Tammy (Skeet) Starkey of Wichita, KS and Sonya Greenstreet of Wichita, KS; three nephews - Todd (Sherri) McClain of Ft. Gibson, OK; Mike (Jill) Wallace of Wichita, KS; Brian (Mandy) Wallace of Springfield, MO; and 6 great niecese, 7 great nephews and 1 great, great niece, 1 uncle, many cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 10 AM at Coffel Schneider Funeral Home in Mound City, KS. She will be laid to rest in Curry Cemetery, outside Mound City, KS. Anna will lie in state beginning Tuesday morning until service time. The family suggests contributions to the Mound City United Methodist Church or Motivator's Sunday School Class, Central Community Church, Wichita, Kansas.
