Alice May Murrow, 90, of Ottawa, Kansas, formerly of Blue Mound, Kansas, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Ottawa Retirement Village. She was born November 30, 1918 in Centerville, Kansas, the daughter of William and Effie Jenks Ross. She was married to Gordon Murrow on May 26, 1936 at Iola, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2006. Alice was a homemaker and farm wife and a member of the Blue Mound Federated Church. She was preceded in death also by one son, Charles Murrow, who died in 1979 and five brothers, Earl, Elmer, Fred, Lester and Verne. Survivors include one son, Elton Murrow & wife, Ruby of Ottawa, Kansas; two brothers, Floyd and Jim Ross, a daughter-in-law, Eldonna Jackson; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Mound City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time. Contributions are suggested to the Shriners Hospital Transportation Fund. Interment will be in the Sunny Slope Cemetery, Blue Mound, Kansas.
