Alfred AL Leroy Hanan, 72, of Mound City, Kansas, passed away on October 9, 2012 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on December 29, 1939 the son of George and Faye Mayhugh Hanan at Kansas City, Kansas. He was married to his wife Frances on September 19, 1962 in Kansas City, Kansas; she preceded him in death on December 21, 2007.Al retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service to his country; he then was a truck driver for the Teamsters Union in Kansas City, Missouri, working for Mistle Toe Trucking, worked as a restaurant manager, for Boeing Air, as an editor for the Machinist Union newspaper, for a printing company in Texas, HandR Block, and as a security guard for Sugar Valley Lakes. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mound City, the Teamsters Union, and the Machinist Union #834. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Faye Maxine Mayhugh, father, George Alvin Hanan, and a sister, Perdita Sutton. Survivors include a son Timothy Hanan; and a brother - Darrell Hanan. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday October 12, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Mound City. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Thursday at the First Baptist Church. Inurnment will be in the Fort Scott National Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the First Baptist Church.
