Agnes Leavitt

Agnes Elsie Leavitt, age 94, Mound City, Kansas died Sunday July 29, 2012 at the Prescott Country View. She was born on June 29, 1918 at St. Clair County, Missouri the daughter of Josiah and Stella Mae Myers Mann. She worked for the United States Signal Corp in Washington D. C., Central Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri and Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri before marrying Wallace Leavitt on April 8, 1961. He preceded her in death on February 21, 2002. Also preceding her was a daughter, Judith Christine Leavitt and a sister Zerah Mann. Agnes was member of the Mound City United Methodist Church and the UMW. She is survived by two sons; Charles Leavitt and wife Melody of Mound City and William Leavitt and Carla also of Mound City, a daughter, Katharine Leavitt and husband Tim Lee of Decatur, Illinois and seven grandchildren: Erica Mueller, Sara, Benjamin Leavitt, Tristan and Kerry Lee, Megan, and Nathan Leavitt. Funeral service will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Mound City United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 PM at the Church.
