Robert Massey

Robert "Gary" Massey, age 77 of Overland Park, Kansas formerly of LaCygne, Kansas died Wednesday March 30, 2011 at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa. He was born on March 15, 1934 in Miami County, Kansas the son of Walter D. and Fern Hutton Massey. Gary graduated from LaCygne Rural High School in 1952, and then earned his Bachelors in Business Administration from Ottawa University, and later attended Kansas University. Gary served his Country with the United States Army. He worked for Mercantile and UMB banks in Personal Relations. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shawnee where he was a member of the choir. He was also a member of the ABA serving as the President of the Kansas City Chapter. Gary was preceded by his parents and a niece Joy. Survivors include a brother Walter Bernard Massey and wife Patsy of Kansas City, Missouri, a very special friend Dian Dotts of LaCygne, Kansas, nephews, Jay, Rick, Chip and Jason, one niece Mary, four great and four great great nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday April 2, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Shawnee. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 Pm Friday April 1, 2011 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home LaCygne, Kansas. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery LaCygne, Kansas.
